CLINICAL GERO-PSYCHOLOGY: Dementia s (such as Alzheimer's Disease), depression, anxiety disorders, grief issues, family conflict, and adjustment to disease are common difficulties addressed in Dr. Chafetz' practice. Biographical Information:
Dr. Chafetz received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 1982.

He has specialized training in gerontology and adult psychology from the University of Florida, Duke University Medical Center, and the Texas Research Institute of Mental Sciences in Houston.

Dr. Chafetz served as faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas from 1984 to 2003.

Dr. Chafetz is active as a presenter at continuing education events in the field of gerontology and mental health. He is a member of the Dallas Psychological Association (past president), Texas Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, and the Gerontological Society of America.
