The Definition of Intelligence

Although there are no universal agreements on the definition of intelligence there are plenty of facts to define it. One definition is the ability to learn new information regardless of what is being learned.

The Latin root for intelligence is intellegere which means understanding.

Intelligence is measured by taking an IQ test such as the Standford Binet IQ Test. IQ scores can fluctuate by as many as 15 points. So that means if you took an IQ test and you scored 100, there is a good chance that later in life your IQ score could go as high as 115 which is above average intelligence.

If you took an IQ test and you scored less than what you believe you are capable of, we invite you to take our IQ Test.

What does an IQ test measure? Most intelligence tests measure memory, reasoning, definitions, numerical ability and recalling facts. To get more information on the definition of intelligence visit the 7 Types of Intelligence.
